The "Shiki Gift Card (*2)" is a pre-paid card that can be used for ticket purchases at theatres and booking sites run by Shiki Theatre Company. There will be 3 possible amounts for charging the card - 3,000 yen, 6,000 yen and 9,800 yen.
The Shiki Gift Card is one of the services being launched to coincide with the start of the new system for the internet age named "Shiki Theatre Company Web Plan 2010". Until now, tickets for performances could not be issued unless the date of attendance was decided in advance and therefore it was difficult to use them as gifts. With the Shiki Gift Card, people that receive the card will be able to select from Shiki Theatre Company productions throughout Japan and attend a performance that is convenient for them. The cards will be able to be used in various situations, for example as gifts for various celebrations, as free gifts for events or parties and as new novelties for companies.
The Gift Card ASP Service was jointly developed by Fujitsu FIP and Toppan Printing and is a real-time processing service that manages gift card balances. It is a highly reliable service that is operated at Fujitsu FIP’s secure data center, which meets the requirements for international accreditation such as ISO/IEC27001. It is already in use by over 50 companies and enjoys the best track record in Japan.
In addition to the competitive edge provided by this kind of service, the ability to provide a one-stop service through a tie-up between Fujitsu FIP and Toppan Printing covering support for introduction of gift card business, manufacturing and issuance of gift cards, and promotional support, and the possibility of selling the Shiki Gift Card via a "Gift Card Mall", something which is gaining attention in Japan as a new business model, were recognized and led to Shiki Theatre Company deciding to adopt the services.
Toppan Printing and Fujitsu FIP will aim to further enhance the added value of gift card services, and strengthen sales focusing on distribution and service industries throughout Japan in order to further expand gift card services as they become popular on a large scale.
